Summary: A poem about a girl with some trust issues.

Just Words

“You’re gorgeous. You’re beautiful.”
Lies escape his lips.
“I want you. I need you.”
He touches her face with his fingertips.

The phrases he had used to weaken her.
Oh, how those phrases had weakened her!

How her heart had fluttered with every word spoken.
How her face had blushed with every given token.
How her knees had weakened with every glanced stare.
How her mind believed when he said he’d be there.

“I’m sorry. I’m sorry.”
The truth finally free.
“I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
Another lie she can’t believe.
